Publius Huldah vs Article V Part VII

Restore the Republic.

In conclusion, Publius Huldah reiterated, “Our Constitution is a miracle; there is nothing wrong with it except for some amendments that Americans got conned into supporting.” Ignorance is our problem. It is our duty to know and enforce the Declaration and Constitution.

Rodney Dodsworth Response. Every worldly creation endures wear and tear, and eventual breakdown if not purposely maintained. Government is no exception. All of them are subject to corruption by their administrators and neglect of their creators.

Our Framing generation knew perfection was not a quality of our Constitution. As Thomas Jefferson wrote,

Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence, and deem them like the ark of the covenant, too sacred to be touched. They ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment. Laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times.

Indeed, America’s governing institutions must advance and “keep pace with the times.” In our times, congress’ first purpose isn’t security of the nation and the rights of the people; it is reelection of its members.  Consequently, it does less and less every year to confront unconstitutional lawmaking by the executive and judiciary. This corruption, lawmaking outside of congress, must be excised by the sovereign people.

If We the People do not exercise sovereignty, an ever-smaller circle of men and women will do so. Obama was the first “pen and phone” president, and unless the sovereign people reassert what is theirs and refute his precedent, more assaults on liberty are certain. President Trump will perhaps provide a lull, a breathing space in which we should calmly exercise our sovereign capacity and restore free government. Through the Article V state convention process, we must pull unconstitutionally exercised powers from the elites, and diffuse it once again across the states. To this end, repeal the 17th Amendment, and grant our state legislatures, as per Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendments, authority to repeal and overturn, on three fifths vote, congressional statutes, executive branch regulations, and scotus opinions.

We are the many; our oppressors are the few. Be proactive. Be a Re-Founder. Join Convention of States. There is little time.

Excellent closing, Rodney… I will quote you… often!

In the run-up to the election, particularly during what passes these days for “presidential debates,” I frequently found myself wishing I could go back in time and witness the Lincoln / Douglas debates. The perspective of my Wish List has changed, however, toward the future, when I hope to someday witness Dodsworth / Huldah-Scutari.

“there is nothing wrong with it except for some amendments that America got conned into supporting.” Which amendments are those, Joanna? Aren’t you glad that women got the vote? Aren’t you glad that blacks are treated equally? Aren’t you glad that Presidents are limited to two terms (especially this year). There are some in our country who forget that the Constitution, as great as it was in 1787 (and for the most part still is), was written by men with clay feet. They understood their limitations. They understood that they could not predict every future need. Thus they created the process to amend the constitution, known as Article V. They also very wisely determined that the process of proposing amendments should not be left ONLY to the federal government. They knew that the States should ALSO have this power — and inserted the convention to PROPOSE amendments. But Joanna wants to effectively rip out that part and leave the power to propose amendments only in hands of the very people who have stolen the power — Congress!! What foolishness.
