https://articlevblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Article-V-Blog-Header-req.jpgFrom a study of the debates at the 1787 Federal Convention and contemporary discussion in the States, our Framers anticipated Article V would be employed far more often than has proved to be the case.

A fundamental part of our Constitution is the provision for future changes. Since all earthly creations suffer from decay and corruption, our Constitution is likewise in need of maintenance and repair. Defects accumulate in our governing form. Unless corrected and reversed in the reserved setting of a convention of states, errors and contradictions will accelerate until a divided society erupts in revolution.

We must accept a simple fact; our masters in Washington, especially the courts and administrative state, have stolen the sovereignty of We the People. The sine qua non of republican sovereignty is lawmaking by representatives, and very little of it is done in congress. Instead, executive branch agencies issue regulations with the force of statutes, and courts amend the supreme law of the land at their pleasure.

This isn’t free government.

Instead of representing a threat to a very soiled Constitution, an Article V convention of the states is a blessing, and one that our nation must utilize to restore the American republic.

We are the many; our oppressors are the few. Now, it is our turn. Be proactive. Be a Re-Founder. Join Convention of States. Sign our COS Petition.
